In lands afar, where new horizons gleam,
A bittersweet tale of migration’s dream,
We leave behind the shores we’ve known so well,
In search of brighter futures, who can tell?

The loss of roots, of family, and friends,
The ache of parting never really ends,
Our hearts divided by a vast expanse,
As we embrace the unknown, take the chance.

The memories of home, they linger still,
In every sigh, in every quiet thrill,
The taste of food, the scent of native air,
In distant lands, we find we’re often there.

Yet in this loss, a gain is often found,
For in migration’s dance, we’re unbound,
New cultures, faces, stories to unfold,
A tapestry of life, both young and old.

So though we mourn the losses we endure,
Through migration’s journey, we mature,
We find that in the spaces in between,
A richer, deeper life, we can convene.
